VCF Mestalla to compete in a new-look Premier League International Cup
The reserve side will face West Ham United, Middlesbrough, Southampton FC and Manchester United in a U21 competition featuring academies from different European countries.
VCF Mestalla will welcome CE L’hospitalet on Sunday 25th of April at the Antonio Puchades at12 pm kick-off time with only five games remaining in the second phase.
VCF Mestalla head coach, Óscar Fernández shared his pre-match thoughts ahead of taking on CE L’Hospitalet:
“I think that it’s going to be a dynamic encounter. CE L’Hospitalet are a side that play really well, creating a lot things, playing an attractive brand of football and they‘re coming here aiming to come away with a positive result.
Rather than them, I’m worried about ourselves continuing to be faithful to what we’re doing, trying to take the initiative and playing in the opposition half of the pitch but we aren’t having any luck at either end of the pitch”
We’re a hard-working team, but the reality is that results aren’t going our way but this team aren’t going to drop their heads.
We’re focused on this game of the five remaining. Reinforcing the things we’re doing really well which are plenty searching for that effectiveness in the final third and try to improve to claim all three points at home”.
